Shannon Govan
Care Coordinator
Shannon serves as the Care Coordinator at Simply Therapeutic Counseling and is often the first person clients connect with when reaching out to our practice. She helps make the process of getting started feel welcoming and straightforward by assisting with scheduling, client communication, and coordinating next steps in care.
Shannon brings a unique blend of compassion, professionalism, and real-world experience to her role. Her background spans healthcare, education, public safety, and behavioral health, giving her a strong understanding of the importance of clear communication, responsiveness, and treating every person with dignity and respect.
She earned her Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in Criminal Justice Administration and holds certifications as both a Peace Officer and Certified Nursing Assistant. Her professional experience includes patient care in medical and surgical settings, community service and public safety, and mental health support with Denton County MHMR, where she assisted individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in working toward greater independence and meaningful employment.
At Simply Therapeutic Counseling, Shannon helps ensure clients feel supported from their very first interaction with our practice. Whether answering questions, coordinating appointments, or helping clients navigate the scheduling process, she is committed to providing a warm, organized, and supportive experience as clients take the first step toward care.
