Clinical Supervision for Texas LMSWs
Board-compliant supervision designed to strengthen your clinical skill, confidence, and professional identity.
Working toward independent clinical licensure is a major step in your professional journey. Whether you are an LMSW pursuing your LCSW or an LPC Associate working toward full LPC licensure, you are balancing client needs, agency expectations, ethical challenges, documentation requirements, and your own professional development.
You deserve supervision that is more than a signature or a requirement. You deserve support that helps you become a grounded, ethical, confident, and effective clinician.
At Simply Therapeutic Counseling, we provide structured and supportive clinical supervision for Texas LMSWs and LPC Associates. Supervision focuses on professional growth, clinical competence, accountability, and meeting Texas licensure requirements.
Texas LMSW-to-LCSW Supervision Requirements
Under Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC) requirements, LMSWs pursuing LCSW licensure must complete the required supervised clinical social work experience under an approved LCSW-Supervisor.
Supervision includes:
- 3,000 hours of supervised clinical social work experience
- Completion of experience within the timeframe established by the Texas Social Work Board
- At least 100 hours of clinical supervision
- Supervision provided by a Texas-approved LCSW-S
- Individual or qualifying group supervision
- Appropriate documentation of clinical experience and supervision
- Completion of applicable licensing requirements, including the ASWB Clinical Examination, Texas Jurisprudence Examination, background check, and required application documentation
Supervision is structured to help you remain organized and intentional throughout the licensure process while strengthening your clinical skills.
